Even up until the last time I saw him, which was a few weeks ago, when the facial paralysis made it difficult for him to chew or talk, he was his incredible, funny, warm self. As we sat around talking and the shock of his physical deterioration wore off, it was hard to believe I was talking to a kid who was only 19 and had been through years of chemotherapy and radiation. I expected him to run outside and chase Porter around or shoot some hoops.
There are so many people that love you Gavin, and you will be missed so so much. It's not fair that you didn't get to go to UofO and play basketball and fall in love and travel and do all those things that your life had in store for you. But you crammed so much love into those 19 short years and brought so much joy to so many people. You fought so hard. It wasn't fair at all that you had to go through such hell during those years of your life. You really are a champ.
RIP Gav. We all love you so much, and what mom said is true. You will ALWAYS be with us in our hearts and minds.

Lots and lots of love,
MT

You made me cry....I love you MT!!
my dearest mt- i want to second kailey- we are all here for you for whatever you need. unfortuantely i know a little too well what you're going to (see my comment on 'le weekend') and unfortuantely i haven't learned any valuable words of comfort to help you through the mourning process. peace is the best you can hope for. and remember that gavin's found peace now. he's the lucky one that beat us to paradise. now you've got an extra guardian angel making sure you meet him there.
i love you dear always and forever. if you ever need a hug, snuggle, air lick, etc. you know where to find them.
